This website is operated by aquaponik manufaktur GmbH, a company that has been designing, planning, and operating large-scale aquaponics systems since 2014 and also conducts research in this field.
This calculator is the result of our many years of experience conducting feasibility studies for aquaponics projects.
Early on, we began developing our own calculation application to model and evaluate aquaponics projects in a structured manner. This web-based calculator evolved from that significantly more comprehensive calculation platform. Its functionality is intentionally reduced, but it can still be very helpful in visualizing initial relationships between land area, production systems, effort, and profitability.
The combination of aquaculture and hydroponics, in particular, is often difficult to grasp in its technical and economic interrelationships. This calculator aims to help make these relationships visible early on and provide a reliable initial assessment—not only from a biological and technical perspective, but also with regard to the economic viability of a project.
